This year, your vacation at Salinello Village is even more engaging thanks to the brand-new semi-panoramic Padel courts in the Village.
Padel at Salinello Village is the most innovative and fun sport of the moment! You can play with the whole family, challenge your friends, or participate in mixed tournaments: the basic rules are similar to those of tennis, but the court is smaller and has side walls, making Padel simply the most engaging sport, suitable for everyone.
There are already countless fans: all that’s left is to try it; once you learn the basic rules, you won’t be able to stop!
Not familiar with Padel yet? We’ll explain!
Padel is a sport suitable for everyone, immediate and very simple to play. Born from a Mexican’s bizarre idea (building a mini-tennis court at home, including walls, due to lack of available space) and gradually spreading first to Argentina and then Spain, it arrived in Italy in 1991. However, it wasn’t until 2019 and 2020 that its popularity literally exploded, with a 60% increase in courts and over 10,000 registered players. Padel is a ball-and-racket sport derived from tennis, played exclusively in pairs, like classic doubles tennis.
The game is played on a rectangular court enclosed on all sides except for two small central gates: behind the players and up to the mid-court is the so-called “wall,” made of an opaque and transparent material (usually glass or bricks), while beyond the mid-court is the “grid,” an entirely metal structure with an irregular bounce. The “closed” court structure is the defining feature of this sport: after the first hit on the ground, you can let the ball touch the wall or grid, and then hit it again after the bounce.
